Most schools will be having their 100th day of school right about now. Why do a lot of classrooms celebrate the 100th day? The 100th day is not only a chance for students to reflect on their school-year success so far, it’s also a fun way to incorporate lessons on numbers, dates, calendars and more into the classroom curriculum.

Teachers who choose to mark the 100th day will do so in many ways. They often have students bring in a collection of 100 things. They may have their students play games or do crafts that have a “100th day” theme. They might have a mini-classroom celebration with a fun element like a 100th day slideshow.

Want to mark the day at home? Check out this reading list called 12 Books to Celebrate the 100th Day of School.

Around the 100th day is also a great time to take stock of how the year is going. There is still plenty of time for students to catch up, keep up or get ahead. Find a Scholars Education Centre location near you, and contact us to find out how we can help you.
